Alessandra (Allie) Krauszer
I have always felt a deep desire for connection. Coupled with an awareness of the pain and challenges people experience, this desire has led me to a career in therapy. There are few joys greater than sitting across from someone and witnessing the relief and recognition on their face when they feel truly seen and understood.
In my work, I strive to be grounding and thoughtful—someone who listens closely and doesn’t rush the process. I believe therapy works best when there’s room to slow down, get curious, and move at a pace that feels safe rather than forced.
I’m often drawn to work with people who are thoughtful, self-aware, and carrying more than they let on—those who are trying to appear “okay” for everyone else. My goal is to provide a space where you can be authentic, without the pressure to perform or seem fine.
I also have a particular interest in working with individuals living with chronic illness, including Type One Diabetes. Having been diagnosed with Type One Diabetes at a young age, I bring a lived understanding of the emotional, relational, and identity-shaping impact that chronic illness can have. I’m especially attuned to the experience of those who learned to be independent early—to manage, cope, and carry responsibility quietly—and I aim to offer a space where that self-reliance can be gently explored rather than assumed.
I earned my Master’s in the Science of Counseling from Cairn University, a program that emphasizes both self-awareness and reflection in therapists-in-training. I am fully licensed as a Professional Counselor in New Jersey and credentialed as an Approved Clinical Supervisor, offering supervision to counselors with provisional licenses.
Early in my career, I worked in higher levels of care, including Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs, as well as in a behavioral school. While I learned a great deal from these experiences, they clarified that private practice is my ideal setting. I deeply value the relationship-building and continuity that private practice allows, where meaningful, lasting growth can unfold over time.
